in honor of my friend, mr. max

rest in peace, sweet max.  you will be greatly missed.

"I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time?"

Sir Walter Scott

That's a very nice tribute. And that quote is very thought provoking and probably has a lot of truth in it.

If the value of a dog's life could be measured by tears shed on the day he died, Max, our dear Max was worth a fortune. He stood tall until the end and waits for his Maxmom to bring his lead so they can cross the Bridge together.

This was a beautiful tribute for a beautiful dog! I shed many tears for Max and his family yesterday, and for myself. Max is going to be greatly missed!

I emailed Caryl this morning asking if it would be ok to use a few pictures of Max for my Wordless Wednesday tomorrow.

Beautiful tribute to Max. Sir Walter Scott was very wise. It doesn't really seem to matter how long or how short their time with us may be, it hurts just the same.
