fridays with asa: C is for...

my dear comrades, ginger and buddy, have been participating in a wonderful game known as the ABC wednesday challenge.  this delightfully stimulating project was conceptualized and brought into fruition by denise nesbitt and her creative team (otherwise known as the ABC team).  the ABC wednesday challenge takes individuals on an orderly journey through the alphabet.  each week, a successive letter is chosen, and participants create a blog post based on a word that starts with the letter of the week.  if any of you find yourselves brimming with excitement over the unique possibilities that this game affords, kindly click on the icon above to learn more.
now as i had previously articulated, ginger and buddy have been participating in the ABC wednesday challenge. their posts have been simply exquisite and a joy to read!  suspecting that i might find satisfaction in this challenge, ginger and buddy kindly invited me, asa, to partake in this week's installment.  i gladly responded in the affirmative, and therefore, i present to you this week's letter -- C!  the ABC team has advised us to celebrate C as well!  being mindful of this instruction, i have elected that C should stand for my most favorite holiday.  might you be able to surmise the answer?  why, indeed, C is for CHRISTMAS!
a classic celebration of CHRISTMAS is comprised of copious customs that i cherish!

congregating in the company of your clan

choosing a christmas conifer

creating christmas cookies

consuming cider and cocoa

cuddling by candlelight or a cozy, crackling conflagration

caroling as a chorus while caravaning through the community

combing the city or countryside to consider the collections of colored lights

ah, CHRISTMAS, i shall commence counting down on the calendar until you come!

swimmies at the river and mega thankies to the tree dogketeers!

it's just been so crazy go nuts hot 'n steamy at my house this summer!  this past weekend, mama and daddy decided to take me and asa to a new place for swimmies.  well, it was new to me and asa, but it's where mama and daddy like to go kayaking.  anywho, we all got into the car and headed for the saluda river.  mama and daddy were really interested to see how we would like it cuz apparently there is this hooge dam that sends water into the saluda river, and since the dam water (*giggle*) is like a hundred feet below the surface, it's supposed to be really cold.  let me just woof to you -- that water really was C-O-L-D!!  the booker man was totally refreshed, but asa kinda thought it was too chilly willies.  she went for some quick swimmies, but then she was more into just dippin' her paws in the water.  i went divin' after my super awesome soccer ball, though!

oh, and here's a totally funsies video of me in action!

as if that wasn't way exciting like already, i got a pressie from miss dory, bilbo, and jacob, too!  a little while ago, miss dory had a contest to come up with a cool pack name for the three of them.  me and asa and mama came up with "dory's backyard bandits".  everybuddy came up with soooo many good pack names, so i was totally surprised when i was picked as a finalist!  the big gratsers go to hero, though, cuz he came up with the winning pack name -- THE TREE DOGKETEERS!  the tree dogketeers and their mama were very nice and kind to send a pressie!  thanks bunches 'n tons!!
